A pony or horse ride through a Halloween-themed trail will end in treats for kids when the TriCo Equestrian Center offers their annual Trick or Treat Trail Ride.

The event will take place at TriCo Equestrian Center, located at 7341 E. 2350th St., over three days: Friday, Oct. 25 from 3-5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26 from 1-3 p.m. and 4:30-6:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 27 from 3-5 p.m.

The cost is $25 for a 15-minute ride and requires a prepaid reservation. To reserve your ride, call or text 309-853-7942 or message the center on their Facebook page here. Cash, local checks or an app are accepted forms of payment.

Costumes are welcome but riders should be prepared to remove any masks or accessories that present a safety concern. All riders will be required to wear a certified riding helmet (provided) and closed toe shoes during the ride. Parents will need to provide a name, age and weight category (under 50lbs, under 80lbs, or over 80lbs) of the rider at the time of reservation.

For inexperienced riders, TriCo is suggesting that parents bring their children to Chautauqua Park any Thursday evening between 5-7 p.m. for pony rides before the event. Parents with younger children should come prepared to accompany the child on the trail and wear closed toe shoes.
