Zeb Rashid delivered a stellar offensive performance, driving in four runs on three hits to power the Annawan/Wethersfield Varsity Titans to a commanding 15-0 victory over the Earlville Raiders.

Rashid contributed early with a two-run single in the second inning and later added a two-run double in the third.

The Titans’ offense exploded in the third inning, plating nine runs to put the game well out of reach. Key contributions came from Clayton Clementz, Maddux Heitzler, and Kellan Keane, who each drew bases-loaded walks to bring in runs. Rashid’s two-run double, followed by RBI singles from Nic Thurston, Brody Childs, and Jonathan Torres, along with a run-scoring groundout by Aaden Verstraete, fueled the big inning.

Annawan/Wethersfield wasted no time getting on the board, scoring in the first inning thanks to back-to-back singles. Keane’s RBI single gave the Titans an early advantage, and they extended their lead in the second with a walk by Keane and another RBI single from Rashid.

Pierce Childs started on the mound for the Titans and delivered a strong outing, allowing just three hits over three scoreless innings while striking out four and walking three. Keane closed out the game in relief with a dominant inning, striking out two without allowing a hit or a walk.

Earlville’s starter struggled against the Titans’ offense, allowing 10 hits and 14 runs over three innings while striking out two and walking seven.

Annawan/Wethersfield collected 11 hits in total, with Heitzler and Thurston each notching multiple hits. Keane showcased his discipline at the plate, drawing three walks as part of the Titans’ patient offensive approach, which resulted in eight total walks. Defensively, the Titans were flawless, committing no errors, with Verstraete leading the way with six defensive chances.

With this dominant victory, the Annawan/Wethersfield Varsity Titans look to carry their momentum into their next matchup.
