Sophomore Chris Crowe capped off a breakout season with a ninth-place finish in the Class 2A high jump at the state track and field meet on Saturday.
Representing the Kewanee Boilermakers, Crowe cleared 6 feet, 6 inches to earn a tie for ninth place in the event.
“The state-medal performance highlights an impressive sophomore campaign for Crowe, who also qualified for the state meet in the long jump and captured the high jump title in the Three Rivers Conference,” said Jeff King, KHS head track coach.
“With two more years of high school competition ahead, Crowe’s strong showing at the state level signals a bright future for the Boilermakers’ standout athlete,” King said.
