A reminder for Kewanee residents that the city’s cleanup day will be on June 6 from 7 a.m. to noon. A rain date will be a week later on June 13.
This event is open to Kewanee residents only and those participating must have a copy of their utility bill and photo ID.
The drop off location is the site of the former Kewanee Hospital at West Division and Rockwell Street. Vehicles must be hand unloadable and participants should be prepared to unload their items themselves.
To enter the drop off site, take Elliott Street from West Prospect Street, drive south on Elliott Street and turn west onto West Division Street. Have your photo ID and utility bill ready. Your ID will be checked at the south side of the parking lot. If you do not have the required utility bill and ID, you will be directed in a safe direction out of the area.
Once your ID is verified you will be directed into the clean-up area lot to empty your vehicle into a trash container. You will then be directed to exit the parking lot and west down Pine Street.
Questions about items accepted can be directed to City Hall at 309-852-2611.
