On Jan. 6, the Lady Flying Geese fought hard to take down the Ridgewood Spartans.

The Geese began the game with possession, and both teams immediately sprang into action.

Following a strong start from both teams, Lana Scott scored the first points of the game.

The first quarter continued to show constant effort from both teams, fighting for possessions and scoring points, with the quarter ending with an 18-9 lead by the Lady Geese.

In the second quarter, the Spartans took first point on a free throw. However, Megan Oliver took charge soon after and scored off free throws as well.

Quickly after this, Emilia Escareno made a three-pointer assisted by Kyleigh Anderson.

With this, the Lady Geese kept lead 27-19 heading into the second half.

On their toes, the Lady Geese came out hot and ready scoring threes from Oliver and Escareno nearly back-to-back.

They allowed only six points and scored 14 by the end of third quarter, bringing the game to 41-25 before the last quarter.

In the last quarter, still as tense as all the other quarters, both teams had tried their best to overcome one another, but yet again the Lady Geese come out on top by a score of 47-31.

The lead scorers for this game were senior Escareno with 11, freshman Anderson with 9 and junior Scott and sophomore Jordan Nelson both scoring 7.
