On Thursday, Jan. 23, the Kewanee wrestling team hosted the Orion Chargers in Good’s Gym. That stand-alone dual also served as the Boilers’ senior night, which made their 60-21 victory over the visitors all the more sweet.

The Kewanee wrestling team opened the evening by announcing its seniors in order of their weight class: Tyson Currie, Ben Taylor, Waylan Lambert, Joey McGuire, Alex Duarte and Leo Gandarilla.

Duarte wrapped up his last home meet with a stunning 15-second pin. Freshman Ace LaFollette wasn’t far behind with a pin in 43 seconds.

Taylor also made quick work on his Charger opponent, concluding the match in 74 seconds.

Leo Gandarilla squares off against opponent Aiden Fisher at 285 pounds.
