Kewanee High School’s freshman boys basketball team lost 41-35 Monday at Sterling.
“It was a tough game where the team struggled offensively early on, but thankfully their defense made it a much closer game in the second half,” Coach Trenton Terry said. “A couple costly mistakes late made it difficult for the team to fully come back, just falling short.”
Kewanee fell to 5-4 on the year.
Dane Vandevelde was Kewanee’s leading scorer with 15, followed by Abe Diaz and Kyden Jones with 6 apiece. The freshman’s next game will be against Hall on Friday at 4 p.m.
