The Kewanee High School Marching Band traveled to Western Illinois University for their last competition of the year on Saturday afternoon and placed second of the 10 bands competing in the 2A division.

KHS also won second place for best drum line and second place for best color guard.

The Marching Boilermakers had their best season on record with their show “Pure Imagination,” winning competitions at Washington High School, where they also won the best percussion award, and at Dunlap High School.

Their second-place finish at Macomb was the best the band has ever finished at that competition.
