On Sunday, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint in rural Geneseo of a possible trespasser inside a livestock building.
The caller reported observing a “suspicious male subject” inside the structure, according to a news release from Chief Deputy Ben Franklin.
Upon arrival, deputies learned the subject had fled the building and the area.
Following an investigation, 64-year-old Mark Leihsing of Colona was identified and arrested.
Leihsing was charged with burglary and sexual acts with an animal. He was taken to the Henry County Jail, where he remains pending a formal court hearing on Wednesday.
“No further details will be released at this time,” Franklin’s news release said.
