A-W girls first, boys second in golf match

The Annawan-Wethersfield girls golf team had the low score in a triangular golf match at Midland Country Club Thursday.

The boys team finished second in the match, in which the Titans competed with teams from Elmwood and St. Bede.

For the girls, A-W’s Elizabeth McGill was the match’s medalist with a score of 46. Other scores for the Lady Titans were Laylah Kraft 56, Katie Attig 60 and Traiden Hier 61.

A-W’s team score of 223 topped St. Bede’s 245 and Elmwood’s 254.

Daylon Hendrix’s 39 was low for the Titans boys team. Teammates Seth Moore (44), Caleb McGill (47) and Drew Wise (57) filled out the team total of 187 stores.

Led by Luke Tunnell’s 39, St. Bede won the match with a team score of 169.

Tanner Wake of Elmwood shot 38 to claim medalist honors, but the Elmwood team finished third with 196.
