Galva police report for March 23-29

March 23:

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang up in the 100 block of East Division Street. It was determined to be a misdial.

A police officer was flagged down about a threat complaint that happened over the weekend.

Police responded to a property line dispute in the 600 block of NE 1st Avenue.

Police assisted Stark County Medic with a lift assist call at a residence on NW 7th Avenue.

Police conducted a low speed vehicle inspection in the 300 block of SE 2nd Avenue.

Police went to multiple residences to follow up on ordinance violation letters that were mailed about a month ago.

Police responded to a loud noise complaint in the 00 block of SW 4th Street.

Police responded to the east edge of town to watch for a reckless driver heading towards Galva. The officer located the vehicle, but did not observe any violations for a traffic stop.

Police responded to the west edge of town for a traffic complaint involving following too closely. The officer did not locate the suspect vehicle.

March 24:

Police met with a resident who wanted to fill out a Freedom of Information Act request form for reports at the Galva Police Department.

Police met with a resident at the Galva Police Department in reference to a dog bite incident that occurred last week.

Police responded two times for a 9-1-1 hang up in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street. The officer located the subject who had accidentally pressed the emergency button on the side of the phone.

Police responded to a loud music complaint in the 800 block of NE 3rd Avenue. The officer located a teenager and advised him of the complaint.

Police responded to a loose pit bull complaint in the 100 block of NE 9th Street. The animal owner denied that the dog had been outside recently.

Police conducted a low speed vehicle inspection in the 700 block of SE 1st Street.

March 25:

Police responded to a harassment complaint involving a subject yelling profanities at neighbors in the 00 block of NE 4th Street.

Police met with a resident at the Galva Police Department to update their quarterly sex offender registration. A completed form was sent to Henry County for LEADS entry.

Police took a dog to the pound that was found in the 00 block of Chester Street. It was later returned to its owner.

March 26:

Police picked up a debit card that had been turned in at City Hall. It was returned to its owner.

Police responded to a solicitor complaint in the 100 block of SW 9th Avenue. The subject was located and did not have a permit.

Police were notified of a controlled burn taking place in the 300 block of NE 9th Street.

Police responded to a civil standby to retrieve property in the 00 block of NE 4th Street.

March 27:

A police officer was flagged down about a social media scam where an unknown person was attempting to obtain money.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang up in the 500 block of Swank Street. It was determined to be an accidental misdial.

Police responded to a child custody dispute in the 00 block of SW 2nd Avenue.

March 28:

Nathaniel Lockett, 21, Kewanee, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle, following a traffic stop in the 400 block of SE 2nd Street. He was released with a required court date.

Police responded to an abandoned dog complaint in the 200 block of Market Street. A dog was located tied up at a closed business. As it was being impounded, the owner called and was able to pick up the dog and take it home.

Police conducted a low speed vehicle inspection in the 00 block of SW 4th Street.

Police watched for a vehicle at the east edge of town that was reported for reckless driving south of Kewanee. The officer was not able to locate the vehicle.

March 29:

Police responded to an illegal burning complaint in the 700 block of NW 1st Avenue. The resident was advised of the burn days, per city ordinance.

Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 1000 block of NW 3rd Avenue. The officer was not able to locate the animal.

Elijah Brunier, 30, Galesburg, was issued a citation for not having insurance in the 400 block of South Center Avenue.
