The Wethersfield Music Boosters proved last week that there is a wealth of musical talent in the community.

The boosters sponsored a dinner and a performance by the Wethersfield High School jazz band, then invited guests to share their musical talents with the audience.

The Wethersfield High School jazz band was among the performers at the event.

“It was a very successful event,” said Patrick Wilson, Wethersfield band director. “We had quite a few students participate in the karaoke time and had a few surprises with guests playing drums and piano.

“Everyone got plenty of food, and the Wethersfield Jazz Band sounded great,” Wilson said. “I am very thankful to all the volunteers, participants, and guests who made the dinner such a fun time.”

As promised, the music boosters created a night full of music. The spaghetti dinner was thoroughly enjoyed by all spectators in attendance.

Many students shared their voices through fun karaoke, and then tested their skills with the Whitney Houston challenge.

The Wethersfield Jazz Band performed two pieces, followed by a few soloists with a catchy beat.
