If you love thrifting, picking or getting a great bargain, then this is your weekend. For the second year in a row The Kewanee Voice is sponsoring K-Town Yard Sales, April 30 through May 2. Kewanee will be hosting over 30 garage and yard sales. On Saturday there will be six food trucks parked in locations along Main Street. Maps along with sale location listings can be found at Voice office in a drop box on the front door.

The Kewanee Historical Society Museum reopens for the season this weekend. The museum will be open Thursday and Saturdays 1-4 p.m. May through October.

If you are looking for something to do with the whole family, then check out the Kewanee Commission on Human Relation’s Cinco de Mayo celebration at Northeast Park from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The event will feature great food, music and a whole lot of fun for every age.

Next Monday evening the Central School Builders Club will be holding their Strawberry Festival in the Central School Cafeteria from 4-6 p.m. For just $5, attendees get strawberries, cake and ice cream. They also offer carry out, but request that you bring containers to transport your food. Also taking place at the school on Monday evening will be an art show featuring works of students grades 4-8 in the Steamer Gym and a book fair in the small gym.
