The city of Kewanee has announced changes to daily curbside collection of trash and recyclables.
According to a post on the city’s Facebook page, the change will “improve operational efficiency and better serve residents.
“These changes aim to reduce delays and ensure more consistent service across the city,” the post said.
Recycling will be collected first on residents’ designated collection day, followed by trash collection.
Residents may notice changes in the timing of their trash or recycling pickup due to these adjustments, the Facebook post said.
The notice said Lakeside Recycling Service (LRS), the company the city has contracted with for trash and recyclables pickup, has until 7 p.m. to complete trash collection.
Residents are asked to place their bins curbside by 6 a.m. on their scheduled collection day to ensure timely service.
“We appreciate the community’s patience as LRS works to provide more efficient and reliable services,” the notice said.
