Cambridge, Ill. – The recipient of an Apex Clean Energy and Big Bluestem Wind grant will be Braveheart Children’s Advocacy Center. The grant comes at a much-needed time for the agency, which just last week announced that it was facing stiff budget cuts.

The Big Bluestem Wind Community Grant Program recognizes and supports meaningful efforts that serve Henry County through economic development, environmental sustainability, education, health and recreation.

Braveheart CAC will receive a $10,000 grant to advance its mission of strengthening the community’s response to child abuse through prevention, intervention and advocacy.

“We are incredibly grateful to Apex Clean Energy for their generous donation,” said Jackie Diediker, executive director at Braveheart. “This support will allow us to expand our programs and services, ensuring that every child who comes through our doors receives the care they need to heal and thrive.”

The Apex public engagement manager, Ray Hoover, said Apex and Bluestem Wind are proud to support the agency’s valuable work through the grant.

“Braveheart’s work provides resources that are crucial to fostering a safe, healthy community here in Henry County,” Hoover said.

Braveheart CAC serves Bureau, Henry, Marshall, Putnam, and Stark counties and are members of the National Children’s Alliance.
