Leah Franklin, a student at Wethersfield and an active member of the First Christian Church, recently utilized the Wethersfield woodworking program, run by Jeremy Trill, to create wooden donation boxes.
The boxes that Franklin built are used to collect necessities such as clothing and shoes, and were strategically placed throughout Wethersfield High School in an effort to support Franklin and her mission to provide for those in need.
The donation boxes bear the logo of the non-profit organization she represents, “Next Generation for Christ.” The organization’s goal has been to make significant contributions to the community, and its ongoing projects are aimed at uplifting and supporting those in need.

Along with the boxes that Franklin created, the organization also accepts donations that go towards creating additional boxes.
Recently, “Next Generation for Christ” held a community dinner and over 300 people attended. Pick up and free delivery service was offered and over 100 people had their food delivered.
The free community dinner is held every last Saturday of the month from 5:30-7 pm at the First Christian Church. The church is located at 105 Dwight Street.
