The Wethersfield kindergarten classes opened up a lemonade stand on Friday and sold lemonade right outside the school’s front door. Each year the class chooses a good cause for which to donate the funds raised. This year the proceeds will go to benefit Resource Officer Chris Woods and his family.

“L is for lemonade” has become an annual part of the end of the year ABC countdown for Shelley Gomez’s and Kyria Eastman’s classes. Teachers, staff and the students get in on making and selling the drink.

In line for a glass of the refreshing drink was Annawan Superintendent Jamie Bryan and Annawan Resource Officer Doug Williams, who came to the school to meet Officer Woods.

The new Principal Kyle Dennison even had a glass and mingled with the students who were lucky enough to be outside on the grass for the nice day.

“What’s better than being outside, drinking lemonade on a beautiful day?” he said, when asked how he was enjoying his first year as principal.
