It was a real zoo at Wethersfield Wednesday as the Wethersfield FFA hosted a petting zoo. The animals were provided to the school by various families and farms, said Kate Rashid, vocational ag teacher and FFA advisor.
The Mosley family provided the goats, while kittens were brought in by the Anderson family. Dan and Tracy Hier provided a Llama named Diamond, a pony named Coco, and an Indian Blue peacock with a rare mutation that made it white.

Tripp Reiker, a sixth grader, brought his show harness cow, Delilah. Rashid provided chickens and sheep were provided by Kevin Charlet.
About a dozen students volunteered to sit with the animals all day, Rashid said. Throughout the day, junior high and high school students came to see the animals when they had time, while the elementary classes scheduled their visits to the petting zoo. The petting zoo was also open to the public until 2 p.m.
