The Annawan/Wethersfield Titans secured a 4-2 victory over the Fulton varsity Steamers on Monday.
Lauren Davis put the Titans on the scoreboard in the first inning with a groundout. Fulton responded in the third when #18 lined out, bringing in a run to tie the game at 1-1.
In the bottom of the third, Davis drew a bases-loaded walk to give the Titans the lead again, followed by a key RBI single from Tessa Gripp, extending the advantage to 4-1.
Madison Smith delivered a strong performance on the mound for the Titans, allowing four hits and two unearned runs across seven innings while striking out eight and walking two.
Jessa Read took the loss for Fulton, pitching four scoreless innings with two hits, one strikeout, and no walks. Belle Curley started for the Steamers, surrendering four runs (three earned) on two hits over two innings, with two strikeouts and four walks.
Elynn Manuel, Wavelynn Peart, Gripp, and Smith each recorded a hit for the Titans. Gripp and Davis were key contributors, driving in two runs apiece.
