Belle Alexander School students had special visitors and new experiences Friday.
“March 6 was a great day at Belle Alexander as students and staff came together to celebrate learning, positivity, and community,” said School Supt. Rebecca Baney.
The morning began with High Five Friday, as staff greeted students at the door with smiles, encouragement, and high fives to start the day on a positive note.
“The welcoming tradition helps set the tone for a supportive and joyful learning environment,” Baney said.
As part of Seuss Week, Baney visited the Monkey Class to read the beloved Dr. Seuss classic “Oh, The Places You’ll Go!” Students listened as the story’s message of perseverance, curiosity and possibility inspired them to think about their own futures.

The day also featured the Cross Cat Café, where staff members were treated to a menu of specialty coffee drinks. The café experience was made possible with the assistance of Kewanee High School Education Pathway students, who helped K-1 students prepare and serve the beverages while gaining valuable hands-on experience in service and collaboration.
“Moments like these reflect the strong culture at Belle Alexander that celebrates learning, encourages connections across grade levels and highlights the many ways students and staff support one another,” Baney said.
