ROWVA secures top spot at 2025 Lincoln Trail Conference Scholastic Bowl

Black Hawk College hosted the 2025 Lincoln Trail Conference Scholastic Bowl Meet on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the college’s East Campus.

The event pits students from different high schools against each other to answer questions from a variety of categories such as history, literature, mathematics, music and science.

Eleven high school teams in the Lincoln Trail Conference competed in nine, 45-minute rounds.

Out of 72 competitors, the Top 10 individual scorers were:

● 1st – Logan Washburn, ROWVA High School
● 2nd – Ravin Morey, Annawan High School
● 3rd – Andy Zueger, Bureau Valley High School
● 4th – Caleb Christenson, Princeville High School
● 5th – Will Clark, Princeville High School
● 6th – Drew Sherbyn, Annawan High School
● 7th – Gabe Wilfong, AlWood High School
● 8th – Devin Reed, AlWood High School
● 9th – MaKayla Craig, Galva High School
● 10th – Jackson Wagy, Monmouth United High School

The top four teams were:

● 1st /Conference Champions – ROWVA High School
● 2nd – Annawan High School
● 3rd – Bureau Valley High School
● 4th – Princeville High School

Other participating schools were Abingdon-Avon, AlWood, Cambridge, Galva, Knoxville, Monmouth United and Wethersfield.

BHC faculty members Andrew Mansheim and Georgjean Pitsoulakis organized and planned the event.
