KEWANEE WEATHER

Out & About this weekend, Jan. 9-11

By Diane Tucker    January 9, 2026
Amanda Fish w/Jerm Theory will perform on Sunday at the Bishop Hill Commons.

Coming off the hectic pace of the holidays, society takes a winter break and slows down and that is evident in the events and happenings taking place in our area. But one thing we aren’t lacking is sporting events and music.

Kewanee Boilermakers basketball teams will travel to Sterling this Friday while both Galva and Wethersfield play on their home court.

For music lovers, venture over to Cambridge this Friday evening and check out Chloe Mae at the Spectrum Pub, located at 117 S. East St. at 8 p.m. Chloe is a talented Cambridge High School student that is sure to impress.

This weekend Crossroads Cultural Connections will present two concerts, Chicago Farmer on Saturday at the Bishop Hill Commons at 309 N. Bishop Hill Street and Amanda Fish w/Jerm Theory on Sunday at 107 E. Bergland St. in Bishop Hill. Both evenings, a potluck and social hour will be held from 6-7 p.m. with the concerts beginning at 7 p.m.

If you have an event that you would like mentioned in this column just submit the information to: Diane.Mikenas@gmail.com.
