One of the two Kewanee school buses damaged in an accident in January should be back in service soon.
But the other bus was damaged so badly that it might be totaled.
Supt. Rebecca Baney reported on the buses at Monday’s Kewanee School Board meeting.
Baney said the buses are being repaired at a facility in Morton. One of them should be back in Kewanee by May 7, she said.
The other one was in bad enough shape that it may have to be totaled, Baney said.
She said that bus was due to be traded in on another bus. If it’s totaled, the district could put the insurance payment down on the bus purchase.
