
The public is invited to attend the annual Abilities Plus Holiday Open House. The event will take pace on Sunday, Dec. 3 from 1 to 3 pm at 1100 N. East Street.
A bake sale, raffle items, and a chance to shop collectibles, holiday decor, hand-decorated evergreen wreaths, ornaments, fairy sticks and holiday gnomes will be offered. Photos with the “Grinch” can also be purchased for a $3 suggested donation.
Abilities Plus 2024 wall calendars will be given out to attendees, and raffle items will include an American Girl doll set, a John Deere basket, Christmas goodies sleigh, cozy Christmas items gift set, Bath and body Works basket, Gift Card basket, Lottery basket, hand-made jewelry, a purse, charcuterie board, a children’s book basket, a Little People Dreamhouse and much more. Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Winners will be drawn at 3 pm on Dec. 3 and don’t need to be present to win.
Evergreen wreaths, the traditional Abilities Plus fundraiser, will be ready for purchase at $15. In addition, the fairy sticks on sale were created by clients from the Day Services program and the money raised will support that program. The small sticks are $5 and $10 for the large. There are limited quantities, so first come, first serve.
The Residential Services program will be selling Abilities Plus tree ornaments for $5 each and proceeds will go towards purchasing Christmas presents for residential clients. The Children’s Services department will have a photo booth set up and individuals can get a picture with the Grinch. A suggested donation of $3 is requested and families will receive a digital copy of the photo and a goodie bag.
Abilities Plus is requesting donations of baked goods for their annual Open House bake sale. Donations of baked goods can be brought to the agency on Friday, Dec. 1, from 8 am to 3:30 pm. Donations can also be dropped off at the agency through door C on Sunday, Dec. 3 from noon to 1 pm.
All proceeds from the open house help fund programs that benefit children and adults with delays and disabilities in Henry, Stark, and western Bureau Counties.
