
The Wethersfield Lady Geese made eight 3-point buckets in the first half of play Saturday en route to beating the Orion Chargers, 60-19.
Wethersfield guards Lana Scott and Cora Hodge each made two treys in the first quarter as the Lady Geese mounted an early 18-2 lead.
Senior forward Paige Huffman hit three from beyond the arc in the second quarter and Camryn Anderson made one as Wethersfield’s lead ballooned to 39-7 at the half.
Kamryn Brown scored eight of Orion’s 12 third quarter points, but the Lady Geese edged out the Chargers 15-12 in the frame. Kennady Anderson scored seven points for Wethersfield.
Kennady Anderson finished the night with 11 points, Scott tallied 10 and Huffman and Angel each added nine.
Brown led the Charges with 11 points.
The Lady Geese have now won seven straight games and boast a record of 10-2. Orion slips to 3-9 on the season.
Wethersfield will resume play on Dec 27 at the Cliff Warkins Memorial Varsity Girls Classic. The Lady Geese will play Rockridge at 11:30 am and Stockton at 5:30 pm.
