The Wethersfield and Kewanee volleyball teams competed in the Knoxville Tournament Saturday. The Lady Geese went 3-0-1 on the day and defeated KHS (2-1-1) to win the title, 25-23 and 25-21.
Wethersfield (15-2-1) notched wins over Roanoke-Benson (8-12), 25-10, 25-10; Abingdon/Avon (1-8), 25-11, 25-14; and Kewanee (8-11-1), 25-23, 25-21. They split with Illini Bluffs (11-3-1), 15-25, 25-15.
Kewanee (8-11-1) had wins over Ridgewood (4-14), 25-10, 25-8 and Brimfield (10-7-1), 25-13, 25-22. They split with host Knoxville (12-5-2), 25-22, 24-26 and lost to WHS, 23-25, 21-25.
