With many of their players unavailable, Kewanee High School’s soccer team dropped a 10-1 decision at United Township High School in East Moline.

“It was not an ideal day to play a 3A team,” Coach Jose Bermudez said.

Bermudez said UTHS is “a very strong team,” and the Boilers “showed up seven players short.”

“We had to move players in positions where they don’t belong,” Bermudez said. He added that JV players had to be added to the lineup.

Tony Moran scored Kewanee’s only goal. And Dillon Price recorded 17 saves on the day.
