KHS volleyball squad falls to Princeton

Kewanee hosted Princeton Tuesday night in Three Rivers Conference volleyball action. The Boilers Girls came up short, losing 18-25, 20-25. 

Macee Pickering and Avery Yepsen dished out eight and six assists on the night. Emma Ellenberger added one.

Their primary targets were Ellenberger and Jillian Bennison, who had seven and three kills, respectively. Aaliyah Duarte had two. 

Adding one kill each were Yepsen, Pickering and Tejhiana Amos. 

Bennison and Ellenberger also had seven digs each and Yepsen added five. Taylor VanWinkle and Marlee Bates chipped in with two apiece. 

Duarte and Pickering each had one dig in the contest. 

VanWinkle also had nine service points and Duarte had three (one ace). Ellenberger, Bennison and Pickering each had one service point. 

Duarte and Amos each had one block.

The Boilers Girls are now 8-12-1 on the season and 2-4 in TRAC play.

The KHS sophomores won, 15-25, 25-15, 25-15 and improve to 21-4 on the season and 6-0 in TRAC action.

The KHS freshmen squad also won, 25-13, 25–14. They move to 16-1-1 overall and 5-1 in conference play.
