
Kewanee High School’s volleyball teams hosted the Rockridge Rockets on Thursday and won in three sets, 25-19, 19-25 and 25-23.
The evening doubled as KHS’s senior night for Tejhiana Amos and Aaliyah Duarte.
The sophomores were particularly strong on Thursday night, with Macy Anderson achieving eight kills and 14 service points and Macee Pickering offering 12 assists and six service points.
Not to be outdone, junior Kendyl DeBlieck earned nine assists and five service points, and junior Taylor VanWinkle added nine service points to the Boilers’ column.
The Boilers ended their regular season with an emphasis on offense. Still, DeBlieck foiled the Rockets with five digs, and Pickering and junior Claire Taylor were right behind her with four digs.
Finally, both Amos and Duarte made two successful blocks in their last home volleyball game.

Kewanee sophomores won in three sets: 17-25, 25-16, 15-12. The freshmen fell in a close third set: 19-25, 25-20, 12-15
On Monday, KHS volleyball will face off against the Princeton Tigers in the first round of regionals at Fieldcrest High School in Minonk, starting at 6 p.m.
The Boilers ended their regular season with a record of 16-15-1.
