KHS soccer drops a close one to Dixon

Kewanee Boilermaker soccer faced off against the Dixon Dukes on Monday, Oct. 7, and fell in a close 2-1 loss. 

The Boilermakers started strong with the game being 0-0 for most of the first half. 

The Dixon Dukes scored their first goal with 15 minutes left in the first half, which ended 0-1.

In the second half, the Boilermakers and Dukes traded possessions until Dixon scored again off of a corner kick.

With nine minutes left, senior Tyson Currie scored a chipshot on an assist from sophomore Jackson Price. The scoring effort was not enough, as the Boilermakers fell to the Dukes 2-1. 

Dillon Price finished with 10 saves.

The JV soccer team lost 0-2 in its game against the Dukes.

The Boilers will return home this Thursday, Oct. 10, to face off against the Canton Little Giants. 

Thursday will also serve as KHS soccer senior night. Parents and friends are asked to come out to support the Class of 2025.
