KHS FFA places fourth in horse evaluation event

On Feb. 7 seven Kewanee High School FFA members competed in the Illinois FFA State Horse Evaluation Career Development event. 

Over 300 FFA Members flooded the agriculture arena at Black Hawk College East Campus on Friday. The Kewanee FFA Horse Judging Team had students compete in both the Reasons and Non-Reasons divisions. 

“These events are crucial in growing leaders and preparing for future career success,” said KHS Agriculture Educator Kindra Callahan.

The KHS reasons team finished fourth overall, and team member Mikayla Ouart was the sixth-high individual with a Superior rating.
