By The Kewanee Voice    October 13, 2025

The Kewanee FFA chapter did well at the Section 3 Career Development Events last week.

KHS ag teacher and FFA adviser Kindra Callahan said the Ag Sales Team (Emmalee Kilstrom, Casey Johnson, Katy Carton and Jackson Price) worked as a team to develop a pre-call sales plan, answered questions about the sales process, completed an individual sales call, and took an exam over the sales process.

The team finished third overall with Carton earning a first, Johnson and Price earning thirds and Kilstrom earning a fourth

Remy Hicks and Kelsey Scott received honors in the Ag Ed area. They created a lesson plan, demonstrated a mini agriculture-related lesson, completed a lesson video reflection, and took an exam over Illinois agriculture education.

Hicks placed first and advances to districts in Geneseo later this month. Scott was first in junior Varsity.

Kalleigh Gale and Emmalee Kilstrom competed in the Job Interview category. Gale’s second-place finish qualified her for districts, and Kilstrom was first in junior varsity.

These students created a resume, completed a job application, underwent an interview and wrote a follow-up letter.

Several students volunteered as “Mock Ag-Ed” students for the Ag Ed competition. They are Daniela Chavez, Jamel Dockery, Guadalupe Favela, Hallee Murphy, Mikayla Ouart, Paige Polowy, Tripp Rieker, Landon VanRaalte, Makiyah Vaughna and Max Wager.
