Kewanee School Board takes personnel actions

The Kewanee School Board approved a number of personnel changes in a special meeting Monday.

Approved were:

Resignations

Brooklyn Pickering, seventh grade girls volleyball at Central effective immediately 

Shannon Clayes, paraprofessional at Central effective immediately 

Employment

Jennifer Chapman, sixth grade teacher at Central for the 2024-2025 school year 

Gini Bennison, fifth grade teacher for the 2024-2025 school year 

Kara Yepsen – Title I math teacher at Irving 2024-2025 school year 

Georgann McCartney – part-time kitchen at Belle 

Preston Bustillos – cafeteria sub 

Julia Murphy – part-time paraprofessional at Belle for 2024-2025 school year 

Kayla Jewell – first grade teacher at Belle Alexander for the 2024 – 2025 school year 

Long-term substitute teachers

Tess Anderson, third grade at Irving, first semester

Eusebia Quintero, third grade at Irving, first semester

Volunteers

Hannah Bridgewater, volleyball at KHS

Max Taylor, football at KHS

Transfers

Stella Long, from 6-2 Monday through Friday to 6-2 Monday through Thursday

Matt Taylor, full-time resource to half-time resource and half-time chemistry

Scott Engress, Central English as a second language to Belle/Neponset English as a second language

Daymon McDowell, from Central Title 1 math to Central sixth-grade teacher
