
The Kewanee girls took second place honors among the field of eight teams at the Bureau Valley Girls Invitational on Monday in Manlius.
Fulton won the meet with 124 points, Kewanee was second with 101 and Stark County finished in third place with 95 points.
Rounding out the field were Bureau Valley 84, Cambridge 53, St. Bede 44 and Amboy with 39 points. Putnam County competed, but didn’t score.
First place finishers for the Boiler Girls were Nolie Charlet and Danielle Jo Currier. Charlet won the 800 meter run in a time of 2:39.96. Currier was the winner of the triple jump with a leap of 32′ 2.25″.
The Stark County Rebels had three first place finishes. The 4×400 relay placed first in a time of 4:28.80. Members of the relay are Sarah Kraklow, Keagan Hamilton, Cheyenh Smith and Dustin Smith).
Chelsey Stotler won the shot put with an effort of 35’0 and Lauren Orwig had a first place finish in the discus with a toss of 99′ 3.24″.
Bureau Valley also had three first place finishes. Lynzie Cady won the 400 meter dash in a time of 1:05.00. Maddie Wetzel was the winner of the 3200 meter run with a time of 12:43.4 and Carly Wiggim won the pole vault, going 6’0.
Cambridge had two place finishers. Emily Downing won the 1600 meter run with an effort of 5:14.54. The 4×800 relay placed first in a time of 10:16.8.
