
The Kewanee boys and girls each won titles at the 78th Brockman Relays Tuesday at the Breedlove-Peterson Track and Field Complex. Kewanee also won the combined title with a score of 279 points.
Seniors Daniel Boswell and Melissa Fragoso were crowned Brockman king and queen.

The Kewanee boys placed first in 10 events en route to the win. Sophomore Anthony Padilla continues to dominate in the hurdles. He topped the field in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles and broke a frosh-soph record in the 300.
Padillas’ time of 41.62 broke the previous of 42.18 that was held by Saul Serna. Padilla won all four events that he competed in on Tuesday. He also ran legs of the winning 4×200 and 4×400 relays.

James Roginski won three events (400 meter dash, high jump and 4×400 relay). Roginski and teammate Dontaveon Thomas were the last two standing in the high jump.
Roginski won by going 6′ 2″ and Thomas had a runner-up effort of 6′ 0.75″. Thomas prevailed in the triple jump with a leap of 42′ 3.5″. He had a winning time of 53.14 in the 400 meter dash.
Leocadio Gandarilla of Kewanee swept the shot put (41′ 5″) and discus (144′ 4.75″) events. Tre Amos had a winning leap of 20′ 2.5″ in the long jump and was part of the winning 4×200 relay.
Kewanee’s 4×200 and 4×400 relays each had winning efforts. The 4×200 relay is comprised of Tre Amos, Tyson Currie, Davontae Jordan and Anthony Padilla. The 4×400 relay is made up of Davontae Jordan, Prestin Stabler, James Roginski and Anthony Padilla.
Karson Shrum of Annawan-Wethersfield had an impressive win in the 3200 meter run. His time of 10:11.10 beat the nearest competitor by 39 seconds. Shrum also had a runner-up effort in the 400 meter dash (54.53).
