If you’re looking for a simple, satisfying meal that brings a little comfort to a busy night, this recipe is one to try. I haven’t made this dish for quite some time, but it came to mind this week, and I thought I’d make some for my dad.
This was one of my grandma’s recipes and something she often made when my dad was growing up. It isn’t fancy or complicated, but it simply tastes great. With simple ingredients, straightforward preparation and classic comfort-food flavor, it’s easy to see why it became a favorite.

Tender egg noodles are coated in a creamy, savory sauce, while the seasoned hamburger adds just the right amount of richness and heartiness. The celery salt and onion seasoning provide subtle depth without overpowering the dish, and the cream of mushroom soup brings everything together.

I dropped some off for my dad tonight so he could have it for supper, and he was genuinely happy to see it. It felt good to pass along a dish my grandma once made for him, now coming from my kitchen instead of hers.
This recipe pairs perfectly with a slice of bread or a warm biscuit, making it an ideal choice for a comforting meal any night of the week.
