By The Kewanee Voice    May 9, 2025

The Kewanee Hispanic Heritage Committee is holding a dance “Baile Noche De Madres.”

The event celebrates Mexican Mother’s Day and is set for this Saturday, May 10, at the Flemish American Club.

The dance is open to all ages and genders. Attendees 15 years and under are free when accompanied by an adult.

Tickets are $15 each or $25 per couple and include complimentary raffle tickets. Ten baskets, donated by local businesses, will be raffled off.

The event is from 7 p.m. to midnight. Azteca food truck will be serving food from 7-10 p.m. A DJ, specialty drinks and a kids’ table are also planned.

The proceeds raised from the dance will be used to host more community events and to fund a new September Independence event. And starting this year, the group also hopes to offer scholarships to local students with the funds raised.
