Triple volleyball wins for Lady Geese

Wethersfield’s volleyball team came away with a triple win over ROWVA-Williamsfield Monday.

The Lady Geese varsity won 25-21, 25-16.

The sophomores defeated ROWVA-Williamsfield 25-23, 25-23. The freshmen won 15-8, 15-4.

Boiler golfers finish 12th

Kewanee High School’s boys varsity golf team finished 12th in a 12-team tournament at Sherrard Monday.

Kewanee finished with a team total of 420 strokes. Riverdale High School won the tournament with a score of 316.

Individual scores for Kewanee were: Reid Nichols 99, Owen Laue 102, Jack Anderson 106, Landon Sheets 113, Carver Neulieb 137, Elijah Mitchell 138.

Two KHS tennis players earn ribbons

On Saturday, Kewanee tennis competed at the Princeton Fresh/Soph Tennis Invitational.

Jumana Al Bayati played singles and results were:
vs. Geneseo lost 0-8
vs. Princeton lost 1-7
vs. LP lost 0-8
vs. Rochelle lost 0-8
vs. Sterling lost 1-7
vs. Mendota lost 1-7

Chayse Sturtevant and Avalyn Hughes played doubles and results were as follows:

vs. Geneseo lost 1-7
vs. Princeton tied 4-4
vs. LP lost 0-8
vs. Rochelle won 7-1
vs. Sterling won 6-2
vs. Mendota won 6-2

Chayse and Avalyn won fourth-place ribbons.
