Feb. 17:
Lucas Gustafson, 40, Galva, was arrested for driving while license was suspended and operating an uninsured vehicle following a traffic stop In the 100 block of SE 1st Street. He was transported to the Galva Police Department for processing and later released with a required court date.
Police and the fire departments were dispatched to an out-of-control fire that damaged a fence in the 1200 block of NW 5th Avenue.
Police removed an unwanted subject following a verbal altercation in the 400 block of SW 7th Street.
Michael Engelkens, 54, Atkinson, was arrested for driving while his license was suspended and having an expired Illinois registration following a traffic stop in the 800 block of North Center Avenue. He was transported to the Galva Police Department for processing and later released with a required court date.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line in the 900 block of SE 2nd Street. The officer was unable to locate anyone needing assistance.
Police checked on a report of a suspicious vehicle at the old wooden viaduct bridge on Hayes Road west of town. A Galva teenager was advised to move along.
Feb. 18:
Police responded to an activated panic alarm in the 1000 block of SE 2nd Street. It was determined to be a false alarm.
Police observed a property line verbal dispute between neighbors while patrolling in the 200 block of NW 6th Avenue.
Police responded to a report of a sick or injured raccoon walking around in the 1200 block of NW 3rd Avenue. The officer located the animal and escorted it away from the area residences.
Police responded to solicitor complaints in the 400 block of NW 2nd Avenue and the 700 block of NE 1st Avenue. The officer determined they did not have a valid solicitor permit. The subjects were located and advised to cease their activities.
Police responded to a juvenile disturbance that occurred at Wiley Park.

Police responded to an anonymous trespassing complaint in the 00 block of SW 4th Street.
Police responded to a crossing arm malfunction at the NE 2nd Street train tracks. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Police responded to a possible trespassing after a neighbor saw an open door on a barn in the 200 block of NW 8th Avenue. The officer searched the building and did not locate any signs of human activity. The door likely blew open due to high winds.

Feb. 20:
Police located a large tree branch in the roadway while patrolling in the 300 block of NW 4th Avenue. The officer was able to move it off the roadway.
Police assisted a citizen in the 200 block of NW 4th Street.
Police assisted other officers with a very unruly subject fighting with the officers after being involved in a severe two vehicle accident on Route 17 at the Stark / Knox County line.
Talyn Mercer, 19, Cambridge, was issued a citation for speeding in the 800 block of North Center Ave.
Feb. 21:
Police assisted Stark County Medic with an unresponsive subject who had reportedly overdosed on medications at a residence on NE 6th Street.
A loose dog was reported in the 200 block of NW 2nd Street. The owner responded and took the dog back home.
Police responded to a complaint of a stray or abandoned cat in the 600 block of NW 7th Street.
Feb. 22:
Police watched for a reckless driver heading towards Galva at the west edge of town. The officer did not locate the suspect vehicle.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang up in the 500 block of SW 6th Avenue. It was determined to be an accidental misdial.
