Clark and Anderson to play in Iowa-Illinois Senior All-Star game

By Jami Townsend    March 5, 2024

Two local high school seniors have been selected to participate in the Pepsi Iowa-Illinois Senior All-Star game on March 18 at the Carver Center on the campus of Augustana College in Rock Island.

The two local players who were chosen also happen to be cousins. They are Brayden Clark from Kewanee High School and Kennady Anderson from Wethersfield High School.

The two athletic standouts have had distinguished basketball careers at their respective high schools and the invitation to participate in the prestigious Iowa-Illinois Senior All-Star game is just one of their numerous post-season accolades.

The event features an Iowa-Illinois format and includes the Top 12 senior boys and Top 12 senior girls from both sides of the river in the Quad Cities.

Senior players are selected to the all-league teams by conference coaches in the Western Big 6 (Illinois) and Mississippi Athletic (Iowa) are the first invited, in order of votes received.

If roster spots remain open, nominated seniors not earning all-conference nods from those leagues are considered — along with seniors from smaller, area schools that earned all-state recognition or nomination.

The girls game will tip-off at 6 p.m. and the boys game will immediately follow at 7:30 p.m. More information about the event and a more detailed story to follow.
