Sunday, Dec. 3 is shaping up to be the local Christmas kick off, as The Salvation Army 360 Life Center adds their annual Christmas concert to the day’s already jampacked schedule.
The Kewanee Salvation Army Christmas Concert will be held at 2 pm at the First Congregational Church at 224 W. Prospect St. and include special guests The Kewanee Klassics and the First Congregational Choir.
The concert is free, and doors will open at 1:15 pm, but a free will offering will be taken to assist the Kewanee Salvation Army in its mission to support those in need in the community.
The concert is one of many events set to take place in Kewanee on Dec. 3. The Wethersfield High School Student Council is holding the third annual Holly Jolly Festival from 3 to 5 pm at the Wethersfield Blish parking lot. After that, residents can catch the annual Christmas Lighted Parade that goes down McClure Street, delivering Santa to the Windmont Lighting ceremony.
Both Windmont and Northeast parks have lighting displays that will be illuminated at dusk that Sunday
