The Henry County Patrick Henry Club will host a public safety town hall featuring Joe McGraw. A former judge, McGraw is running for the Illinois 17th Congressional District seat, currently held by Rep. Eric Sorenson.
The town hall is part of the club’s candidate conversations and will be held at Kewanee City Hall, located at 401 E. Third St., on Saturday, April 27 at 9 a.m. Attendees are invited to come earlier at 8:30 a.m. for coffee and donuts.
According to his website and bio, McGraw lives in Rockford with his family and has spent his career in law enforcement first as a prosecutor then as a judge. But McGraw said he is stepping away from the bench in order to “fight to save America for the next generation.”
McGraw will talk about his experiences at the border and share his ideas on how to fix the situation and improve public safety. Other issues listed on McGraw’s website include “restoring law and order,” the border crisis, China, and addressing “the mass amounts of fentanyl pouring into America.”
On the economy, McGraw said he will go to Washington to “stop out-of-control spending,” as well as “cut taxes on American factories” and “clean up Washington” by ending corruption.
