Bravettes win in rout over Seneca

The Annawan Bravettes used a huge 32-point first quarter to beat Seneca 76-42 Saturday in Annawan. 

The Bravettes held the Fighting Irish to 14 first half points to extend their lead to 45-14 at the half.

Paige Sierens led Annawan in the first quarter scoring parade with 10 points. Elaina Manuel knocked down two 3-pointers and scored eight in the frame. Zoey Vance and Olivia Goodley each added five and Kaylee Celus had four.

As a team, Annawan made 8 of 11 free throws in the first quarter and 10 of 15 in the half. 

The Bravettes outscored Seneca 13-6 in the second quarter. Vance and Manuel scored six and five more, respectively. 

Grayson Province scored 10 of her 11 points in the third quarter en route to Seneca outscoring Annawan 20-12. The Bravettes, however, still held a comfortable 23-point lead, 57-34, heading into the final quarter. 

Vance tacked on another nine points and Manuel added seven more as Annawan topped Seneca 19-8 in the fourth quarter. 

Vance led all scorers with 25 points and Manuel added 20 in the winning effort. Sierens scored 12, Celus added nine and Goodley had eight. 

With the win, Annawan moves to 9-2 on the season.
