The Kewanee Boiler Girls kicked off the 2024 season Monday night with a 5-3 non-conference win over LaSalle-Peru in LaSalle.
Sophomore Kalleigh Gale pitched a complete game and struck out 10 batters on the night.
Senior Hope Peed went 2-4 at the plate and freshman Kieryn Abernathy was 1-3 and had an RBI in the win. The Boiler Girls begin the season with a record of 1-0, while the Cavaliers are 0-1.
