
“It was a great night for the Boiler cross country team, placing first and second in both varsity races at the beautiful Boiler Cross Country Course at Baker Park,” said KHS Coach Chad Palm.
Kewanee hosted Galva, Bureau Valley, ROWVA and Rockridge.
Jason Rusk won the boys three-mile race in a time of 19:15, and Chase Palm finished just 14 seconds later to place second.
Hunter Vancil was 15th (22:12) and Mitchal Thorp was 17th (23:04).
In team competion, Bureau Valley won with 23 points and ROWVA/Williamsfield was second with 34.
Natalee Martin (23:41) and Nolie Charlet (24:09) finished 1-2 in the girls’ three-mile. Other KHS runners were Esmerelda Martinez eighth (26:17) and Alejandra Martinez ninth (26:52).
Rockridge was the only school entered which fielded five runners. They scored 15.
