Big nonconference win for Lady Geese

The Wethersfield volleyball team notched a big non-conference home win against Brimfield Thursday night.

The Lady Geese cruised to a 25-14 win in the first game and hung on to win a 26-24 game 2 nailbiter. 

Wethersfield moves to 10-2 on the season and 3-0 in LTC play, while Brimfield slips to 7-5 and 3-0 in the ICC. 

The WHS front row trio of Emersyn Nelson, Kendall Vincent and Kennady Anderson led the offensive attack with 4 kills each. Lejaya Angel had 2 and Sophie Nimrick added one. 

Raqi Young and Abigail Cabada distributed 12 and 3 assists for the Lady Geese. 

Leading the defense were Vincent, Cora Hodge and Anderson with 11, 10 and 7 digs, respectively. Young had 3 and Wavelynn Peart and Marlie Lindstrom each had 2. Chipping in with one each were Camryn Anderson and Natalie Nelson. 

The Lady Geese won all three matches against Brimfield. The sophomores won their two-set match, 25-18 and 25-12. The freshmen team claimed a 25-11, 25-3 win.
