
Wethersfield hosted ROWVA/Williamsfield Monday night in Lincoln Trail volleyball action. The Lady Geese topped the Cougars 25-14, 25-20 and extended their win streak to six.
They move to 11-2 overall and 4-0 in conference play. R/W is now 11-4 and 6-3.
Leading the front row attack at the net were the trio of Lajaya Angel, Kendall Vincent and Emersyn Nelson who had 5 kills apiece. Adding 2 each were Raqi Young and Kennady Anderson. Camryn Anderson and Sophie Nimrick chipped in with 1 apiece.
Young led the team in assists with 18.
Cora Hodge had a team high 11 digs. K. Anderson, Vincent and C. Anderson each had 4. Young had 3, while Angel, Nelson and Nimrick each had 1.
K. Anderson, Vincent, C. Anderson and Young recorded 2 aces apiece. Hodge served 1. Nelson had 2 blocks and Camryn Anderson 1.
The WHS sophomores outlasted the Cougars in 3 sets 25-15, 23-25,15-10. The freshmen team lost 14-25, 20-25.
The Lady Geese travel to Wyoming tonight to take on Stark County. The varsity match starts at 7 p.m.
