Annawan volleyball players receive awards for historic season

This year’s Annawan High School volleyball team had a historic season with great accomplishments on and off the court.

Those accomplishments include:

-Lincoln Trail Conference champs
-Regional champs
-Sectional champs
-Most wins in a season in school history, 29

The Bravettes lost a heart-breaking three-game match to Hartsburg-Emden (who’s advancing to the state championship game).

Team members honored for their accomplishments are:

-Tyra Jones: most digs, LTC First Team, and LTC All Academic
-Olivia Goodley: Most blocks, LTC 2nd Team, Bravette Award, and LTC All Academic
-Hannah Heitzler: LTC 2nd team and LTC All Academic
-Kaylee Celus: Most Kills, Ace leader, best hitting percentage, Bravette Award, Team MVP, LTC All Academic, LTC 1st team and voted unanimously the LTC MVP receiving the Allric “Toney” Anderson Award.
-Lainy Manuel: Best serving percentage, LTC 1st Team, and LTC All Academic
-Aaliyah Hayes: LTC All Academic
-Lainey Maupin: LTC All Academic
-Karsyn Rico: JV MVP, JV Bravette award, and LTC All Academic
-Clara Bella VanOpdorp: Most Assists, LTC 1st Team, LTC All Academic
-Elise Manuel: LTC All Academic
-Aleigha Witte: LTC All Academic
-Alexis Wilson: JV Most Improved
-Brynn Harker: LTC All Academic and Varsity Most Improved
