Since the start of this benefit, the community has raised more than $170,000 for the Quad Cities Chapter of the Honor Flight Network. Area veterans will be provided with a free trip to Washington, D.C. to visit their memorial with priority given to survivors of World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War and any veteran with a terminal illness.

Honor Flight Quad Cities operates on donations from organizations and individuals. The benefit is now accepting monetary donations, as well as donations of raffle items and baked goods.

Raffle item donations can be made until Thursday, June11. Baked goods donations must be dropped off by Friday, June 12. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.

The benefit will last from 7 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Filling Station Restaurant, at 303 N. Bishop Hill Street. Organizers are looking for volunteers and patriot riders.

To make a donation or for more information, call Nicci Dillon at 309-927-3355, or Joella Krause at 414-573-4724. Baked goods and raffle item donations can be dropped off at the Filling Station.
