Kennady Anderson will be the last Wethersfield girls basketball player to suit up in jersey #21.
Coach Todd Hansen announced at the teams’ recent awards banquet that Anderson’s number is now one of three WHS girls basketball numbers to be retired.
The other two are Brittney Litton (the girls all-time leading scorer with 2,211points) and Alexis Nichols (No. 7 on the list with 1,415 points).
Anderson’s distinguished four-year career culminated with her scoring 1,491 points and landing at No. 6 on the Wethersfield Girls All-Time Scoring List.
Kennady also broke the school record for steals in a season this year with 114. She also hauled in 623 career rebounds, had 341 total steals and dished out 265 career assists.
Junior Lajaya Angel moved up to No. 17 on the all-time scoring list and she already has the distinction of being the school record holder in career rebounds with 742. Angel broke the previous record of 648 that was held by Brooke Steger (2004-08).
Senior Paige Huffman finished her career at No. 33 on the all-time scoring list with 584 points. Junior Kendall Vincent is 73rd on the scoring list with 318, senior Elle Eastman finished 77th with 224 points, freshman Lana Scott is 85th with 224 and senior Cora Hodge finished in 90th place with 208 points.
